Higher availability, faster turnaround, longer endurance
Carbon brakes offer higher performance (better energy absorption) and faster cooldown, for shorter turnaround times (TAT) and increased fleet availability. Messier-Bugatti-Dowty carbon brakes average 2,200 Landings Per Overhaul (LPO), ensuring twice the endurance of regular steel brakes, considerably lowering operating costs for airlines.
One carbon brake for an entire family (Next-Generation/MAX)
MBD offers a single type of carbon brake for all models in the 737 Next-Generation family: 737-600, 737-700, 737-800, 737-900, 737-900ER as well as the 737 MAX family. Airlines deploying several different 737 Next-Generation/737 MAX models are able to manage their wheels and brakes more efficiently, decreasing inventories and reducing expenses. The 737 MAX will be available with carbon brakes only.
Sercarb®III OR, Messier-Bugatti-Dowty’s best selling carbon brake
Over 5,500 commercial jetliners now in service are fitted with Messier-Bugatti-Dowty Sepcarb®III OR (Oxidation Resistant) brakes, and the fleet continues to expand. The fourth generation of carbon composite developed by Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, it is now offered on all 737 Next-Generation models. These brakes also feature the new Anoxy 66 anti-oxidation coating to guarantee longer brake service life, even under intensive use, and better resistance to oxidation caused by the deicing products used on runways.
